CONVENIENCE SAMPLING

Convenience Sampling: A sample obtained from readily available lists such as telephone directories or other prepared population statements is called convenience sample.

Even if the random sampling procedures are adopted, this technique cannot be considered as a random sample, the simple reason being that these basic lists are not prepared keeping in view the object of the study. The population data considered for the study shall depend on the specific object proposed and; readily available information sources may not suit the purpose of the study.
