ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVATION, EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE

ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVATION, EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE, JOB SATISFACTION  ,ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT AMONG UNIVERSITY TEACHERS
This study examined the relationships of demographic factors (age, gender, marital status, experience and education), emotional intelligence, achievement motivation and job- satisfaction with organizational commitment. 
Respondents were 304 (male =159   ; female = 145) randomly chosen from 75 universities in India. The sample was administered the measures of biographical data, emotional intelligence, achievement motivation, job satisfaction and organizational commitment.
For the purposes of data analysis, Correlation and Hierarchical multiple- regression were applied. Results indicated that demographic variables except gender, emotional intelligence, achievement motivation and job satisfaction significantly predicted organizational commitment of university teachers. The educational managers and planners are suggested to consider the factors of emotional intelligence, achievement motivation and job satisfaction while designing programs aimed to increase the organizational commitment of the teachers.
